Phú Quốc Named Second Most Beautiful Island in the World
In a prestigious global ranking, Phú Quốc, Vietnam’s largest island, has been named the second most beautiful island in the world for 2024 by the renowned American travel magazine Travel & Leisure.
The magazine’s annual “World’s Best Awards” list highlights the 25 most stunning islands and archipelagos around the globe, as voted by its discerning readership of international travelers. Phú Quốc secured the second spot on the list with an impressive overall score of 94.41 out of 100, trailing only the Maldives which topped the ranking with 95.63 points.
“Phú Quốc is the sole representative from Vietnam on the list, showcasing the country’s natural beauty on the global stage,” the magazine noted in its assessment of the island. The article praised Phú Quốc’s status as an up-and-coming tourist destination, where visitors can still enjoy a sense of peace and tranquility even as the island develops new luxury accommodations to cater to the growing influx of international travelers.
Some of the other top-ranked islands included Bora Bora in French Polynesia (3rd), the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador (4th), and Palawan in the Philippines (5th). These stunning island destinations were recognized for their pristine beaches, diverse ecosystems, and exceptional natural beauty.
The Regent Phú Quốc and the New World Phú Quốc were highlighted as standout resorts on the island, with the New World Phú Quốc being named one of the top 4 best resorts in Southeast Asia and top 100 in the world by Travel & Leisure.
